The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech is a public institution of Higher Education and Research, specialised in Architecture, Engineering, Applied Sciences and Technology.

The UPC offers 66 bachelor’s degrees, 81 master’s programmes (34 of them fully in English) and 45 PhD programmes in the fields of:

  • Civil, Environmental and Geological Engineering;

Campus_UPC_3 Every year, more than 6,000 bachelor’s and master’s students and more than 500 doctoral students graduate from UPC. The UPC has a high graduate employment rate: 93% of its graduates are in work and 76% find a job in under three months.  

In the 2021 edition of QS World University ranking by Subject, the UPC is ranked 20th in the world in Architecture and 29th in Civil and Structural Engineering. It is also among the world’s top 50 universities in Telecommunications, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and among the world's top 100 universities in the field of Engineering and Technology and in the Computer Science, and Mechanical, Aeronautical and Industrial Engineering.

It is the top-ranked Spanish University in Engineering and Technology and in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Computer Science.

Research

The research carried out at the UPC marks the meeting point between scientific inquiry, innovation and technological development. The UPC works to promote a culture of research, innovation and entrepreneurship and establish knowledge networks with researchers and research groups around the world.
